So, here we are, at my Simself’s lovely abode… a beautiful spot on the beach. This particular household started off with more money than normal, and after purchasing the property, she’s starting off with 27,204 simoleons. I’m also playing this legacy on long life-span.
I picked the beautiful Recurve Strand turned residential as the starting house, I just love how peaceful and beautiful this lot is. It’s going to be a long commute, but it’s lovely!
And, let me introduce, Honeybee Song! Hello, Honeybee! Are you ready to start your new life?
Honeybee:… um.. Yes. I guess. What’s this all about?
Oh, well,. You are my Simself, an alter ego, if you will, and you are going to be participating in a legacy challenge I designed, but need to try out. It will be fun!
Honeybee: Um. Ok. Sure. Sounds great.
Excellent. So, Honeybee’s traits are family-oriented, virtuoso, bookworm, good sense of humor, and absent-minded. Her favs are Purple, Mac and Cheese, and Classical Music. Her LTW is to be surrounded by family. I’m a little nervous about being able to complete this particular wish in this challenge, but we are gonna give it a try!
Let’s show you all around the house! It’s a modest little house on the beach, with a nice patio area overlooking the pretty beach.
It has a small bedroom, and a bathroom (not pictured) I think it’s a lovely starter home, if I do say so myself. I’m still putting the finishing touches on decorating and whatnot, but it will come together.
Honeybee: I love this house! And the view! It’s perfect!
Aw, well, I’m glad you think so… so, now that we’ve taken care of intro stuff, what would you like to do?
Honeybee: (doesn’t even look up from book) Who me? You’re asking me?
Yep. That’s the way this legacy works. I fulfill as many of your wishes as I can, and try to help you complete your LTW while we are at it. So, instead of me telling you what do to, except in certain circumstances, I’ll help you do what you want to do!
Honeybee: Cool! Well, I think I’d like to get a job. In the Music Career. OOOH and I would love to go fishing. And earn a fishing skill!
Hmm… music career are you sure? YOU can think about it a little longer..
Honeybee: well, I don’t know what else to try.
OK, well, why don’t we take you down to the park, and let you work on your fishing skill, then we’ll see about a career.
Honeybee: Sounds good!
Fishing went pretty well, she even caught some fish! Although, with those faces, I’m not sure she’s enjoying it as much as she thought..
Honeybee: well, I would enjoy it more if I was better at it. I’m at least catching something… hey, maybe I could do this for a living, join the fishing career!
Hmm, well if it’s a choice between fishing and music, I’d say lets go with music, because that way at least you can meet people from work.
Honeybee: Why are you concerned about me meeting people?
Well, somehow you are going to have to find someone to well, carry on the legacy with. Otherwise, it’s game over for us!
Honeybee: Oh, I see. I do want kids someday. You aren’t picking who I marry are you?
No, no, I can’t do that. I can only help you if you wish for someone or something. So no worries there.
Well, alright! Let’s go get a job at the theater!
Me: so, how’d it go?
Honeybee: Got the job! Met the boss, he seems nice. Stiles McGraw…
Good, you finally know someone! That’s great! So, what would you like to do now?
Honeybee: Well, I would like to finish that book I started to read before we left for the park…
I let honeybee read until her hunger is in the yellow and the hungry moodlet shows up. She’s far away from home, so I have her eat at the Bistro… (and maybe she’ll feel like meeting someone there!)
After a lovely dinner of fish and chips, I spy two girls standing around the bistro, Malinda Cho and Holly Alto.
Me: Look, honeybee, there’s some nice girls to make friends with, why don’t you go talk to them?
Honeybee: Eh, I met Malinda inside while I was getting my order. I’m not really in a chatty mood.
Me: Well, you need to do something to make some acquaintances. Hehe! I know! You need guitar skill for work, and that’s one thing I’m allowed to direct you to do! *runs to shop buy/build mode to purchase a guitar and slip it into Honeybee’s bag unnoticed.*
Honeybee: Heeeey, look at that, I have a guitar in my bag! Sweet!
Me: That’s right, why don’t you play a little before you head home?
Everyone leaves, so I decide I should send Honeybee home. Her energy is now in the orange, so I send her home to sleep. Tomorrow is a busy day!
DAY 2:
Well, it’s a beautiful morning here on our home lot, and Honeybee decided to eat her breakfast outdoors.
It seems that all Honeybee ever wants to do with her free time is read. Oh well, it’s not like we have a lot of time before work anyways. I leave her be.
And it seems that we are late for work, that darn commute being the culprit. Argh, it’s gonna take her forever to get promoted. But at least while at work she meets a few co-workers, Cornelia Goth, and Jamie Jolina. While at work, Honeybee rolled a wish to visit the art gallery and since we, ok, I am desperate for her to make friends/meet potential boyfriends, I send her there straight after work.
When we get there, the place is deserted, so she chose to sit and read, which is fine by me, one of her wishes is to finish 5 books.
So, sitting here watching you read is super exciting, but isn’t there anything else you’d like to do? Like meet people?
Honeybee: eh, I’m much better with books than people. You know that.
Well, yes, but…seriously, don’t you want at least one friend?
Honeybee: shhh… the book’s just getting good!
As soon as her hunger moodlet shows up, I direct her to the diner for a nice meal. I see a few people hanging out there, maybe she’ll make another acquaintance!
After she comes out, no one is talking to her, so I have her pull out her guitar since she needs a guitar skill for her job, and it will gather a crowd. Well, no such luck with the crowd. OH well, at least she has a skill point. I send her back home to sleep, she’s exhausted!
DAY 3: (tues)
Well, I’ve learned my lesson. I just have her make one serving of food for breakfast this morning. She has left the other one’s out that she made her first morning in town, and I’m a little OCD about my Sim’s house. I usually hire a maid, but here, I can’t do that until she wishes for it. I wait before I direct her to fulfill any wishes, hoping she’ll clean up. But NOPE.
Hey, notice those flies hanging around the house? They would go away if you would use that awesome dishwasher I bought you!
Honeybee: Aw, chores are boring. I’d much rather fish right now. A few flies never hurt anyone. I’ve gotten use to the smell.
How the heck? I didn’t make you a slob you know!
So, she’s been out at our own private beach and try to catch a goldfish. While fishing she rolls a wish to know bait for goldfish or minnows, I can’t remember which. I’m excited about that, because it means a trip to the bookstore, and hopefully socializing!
I send her to the road a little early so she can get to work on time this time.
After work, we head to the bookstore and there’s tons of people out, especially ones I’ve made! After she loads up on books, I decide to sit back and watch her for a while, since she’s rolled no wished to meet or talk to anyone.
EEP! Look Honeybee! One very cute simmy wants to talk to you! Turn around!
Honeybee: eh, I’m tired, can’t I just go home and read?
Keith: Hello there, I’m Keith. I couldn’t help but notice you got a book on fishing. I love the outdoors!
Honeybee: Hello, I’m Honeybee. Oh, yes, well, I’ve taken up fishing as of recently, I was just getting some books to read up on it.
Keith: That sounds like fun! Oh, look over there! A guy is playing his guitar!
Honeybee: Oh, let’s go listen!
So, her and Keith autonomously run over to hear Parker Langerak play the guitar.
After he quits, she goes over to Parker to compliment his music. (Yay, another Male acquaintance she’s made on her own!)
They chat for a minute, then they both yawn in exhaustion. I go ahead and send Honeybee home.
Tomorrow is her day off, surely we can get some wish granting and socializing in tomorrow!
My Notes: *Well, so far so good, I think. There’s one thing troubling me so far, Honeybee never rolls any wants to meet people, or make friends or talk to people. Hopefully as time goes on and she meets more people she will want to, but it has me a little worried that I won’t be successful in finding her a man! Maybe there should be an amendment to the rules for socially engaging people… we shall see. I’m thinking about adding a rule that lets you choose “one” non-wish related interaction with a sim per conversation. That way, there’s a better chance of actually being able to complete the challenge. Maybe that rule can be an optional rule, and if you want to make it more challenging, you can do without it. I believe I will try out that rule over the next few sim days, and see if that helps, or makes things too easy. Thanks for reading through the first boring few days! It’s always slow in the beginning!
whew.. the more I read, the more I loved!!!
ReplyDeleteif I wasn't so busy handling two legacies, I would totally start up a blog myself.. I am actually going to try this one out for the time being, because I really love it.. aren't our simmie's wishes meant to be granted?
Yay! Thanks for reading Kitty! I'm glad you like it!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you on the wishes thing.. I usually ignore most of my simmies wishes when I'm trying to accomplish something in particular in my game, so I wanted to see what my simmies would do/want if I butted out a little more! ;)
I definitely wanna hear about how your own adventures go trying this out, I could use all the feedback/help I could get! :)
This sounds like so much fun. I was playing something much simpler than this on my own and I love that you have come up with it and put rules to it. I am uber tempted to start one myself now (oh why oh why do all these ideas come up when I don't have game access :-()
ReplyDeleteThank you much Thea!
ReplyDeleteThis is a very nice chapter. Seems like an interesting challenge as well.
ReplyDeleteI typically play my game based on my sims wishes but I don't think I could do an entire challenge without directing them to do a couple of things just because some of my sims only roll wants for skills, and they would probably never get out of the house.
Hi Ashley! Thanks for reading! Yes, that seems to be the challenge at first, to get past all the boring wishes. But with a little creativity, there are ways to fulfill wishes by getting the sims out of the house. It's a lot of fun.
ReplyDeleteI really like this idea.... I may look into starting one myself :]
ReplyDeleteThanks for commenting pink! It is a lot of fun, if you start one and want to share, check out the forum link at the bottom of the rules page and share with us other Wishacy peeps there!
ReplyDeleteI love your writing style. It's different and very enjoyable! :)
ReplyDeletethanks a lot curry! I will warn you though, I did change up the writing style a little ways through, so hopefully it's still enjoyable for you. For what it's worth, the first few chapters are more "me". :)
ReplyDeleteOh my! Her house is BEAUTIFUL! :D
ReplyDeleteI like this challenge and think I will try it! Only thing is I have to complete my legacy, well I'll just have to multitask ;)

ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by Sliver Screen! I"m glad you like that house! :) I felt pretty darn good about it! :)
ReplyDeleteI was searching challenges to play with Sims 3, and I came across your rules, and decided to try this with Madison VanWatson. It's quite intriguing to play this way :) Also, I'm just reading this, and I'm hooked. Just started a blog for The VanWatson Wishacy here: http://thevanwatsonwishacy.wordpress.com/
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the fun, Cheyene! Glad to have you!
DeleteHey, I totaly love this! So I decided to do a wishacy too. My Sim did roll the wish 'get married'. Am I allowed to find her a guy to get married to?
ReplyDeleteNope... but you can keep them as romantically involved as much as your sim wants! It's a good thing my sim wished to become married even before she met anyone...
