Generation 6 Chapter 4: Finally It Happens!

Jazz, keeping true to his word, never worked past dinner and started taking me out a lot more often. Tonight, we were going to a new club that opened up in town!

I had never been to a club before, so I didn't know what to expect. But I think because it had just opened up, it wasn't near as crowded as I thought, which was kind of nice.

For a while, Jazz and I had one bartender all to ourselves. I was so fascinated, watching him prepare our drinks!!

Jazz and I got a little crazy. We just kept ordering drink after drink, and soon, well, we were juiced, for sure!

I'm not sure what I was thinking, but all of a sudden, it seemed like a great idea to dance on the counters. The music was so hypnotic, I couldn't help it!

Not to be outdone, Jazz got up there too! There we were, two highly mature, intelligent people, dancing on the counters and laughing at each other!! Haha!

Eventually, we were asked to get down, so we did. We wandered off to another room of the club, and met a nice lady bartender.

She made me the cutest little girly drink, it was yummy! Jazz tried it too. But WOW. Did it pack a punch.

Jazz and I both were probably just minutes away from passing out cold when the owner started kicking everyone out to close up.

At 5am we stumbled out the door, and waited for a cab. We had one awesome fun date night, but we would both be paying for it in the morning, I knew it!

After taking the morning off to recover, I headed out in the afternoon to meet with cases.
"Yes, just give me the best description you can, and I'll look into it this evening."
"Oh wow, that fast! Thank you so much!"
"Of course! I'll be in touch."

The tables turned a little bit the next few days, because I happened to have 2 very important cases to work on , and it was I who ended up not coming home until after dinner every night.

Jazz found things to do though, he usually went for a jog to his old neighborhood and spent time with his mother and sister. It was hard to believe his sister was now a young adult herself!

Ok, well, at least I thought his visits to his mom were just to have something to do while I was gone. Come to find out, they were pretty intentional. It seemed that Jazz had some very important things to discuss with his mother. And I found out what a few days later.

I had just finished singing a love song I had learned on the guitar for Jazz. He loved it, I think he even got a little teary-eyed.

I sat my guitar down, and Jazz took my hands.

"That was beautiful. I don't know that I've ever heard you sing, only play."
"Yeah, well, I like the playing more than the singing, but you know. I kind of like you, so you're worth it." I smiled teasingly.
He kissed me, then stared at me for the longest time.

"What? What is it?"
"Darn it all, I'm just going to do it."
"What?"

Jazz started to bend down on one knee.

"Juniper, I know it seems like we've been together forever. And I'm so happy with you. I knew even back in high school that you were the one for me. I know it seems crazy to do this after being together as long as we have, but..."
"No way..."

"Juniper, I want to be with you always, I want to make you my wife. Will you marry me?"
I could hardly breathe. He caught me so off guard!

I would have never guessed in a million years that when we woke up this morning, I was going to be proposed to!
He took the ring out of the box, and looked up, waiting for an answer.

I slipped my shaky hand out and managed to say, "Of course, Jazz. Of course I'll marry you!"

He slipped the ring on me, and we hugged and cried for a while. I had always thought of Jazz as my other half. My soul mate. It had just never occurred to me that we had to get married for that to be true. But now after being proposed to, and accepting, it made perfect sense to me. After all these years we were going to celebrate our love, our everlasting love. Why not? I think I'm going to make an excellent wife!

So, we immediately started the calls to the family. They were probably more shocked than I was. Well, except for Jazz's mom. She had been the one that Jazz poured his heart out to, telling her that he had this overwhelming feeling that he wanted to marry me after all these years, and was that silly? And she encouraged him that it wasn't silly at all, and she would be thrilled to have me officially as her daughter.

There was really no reason to drag out the wedding date so we set it in a few weeks, just enough time to get the wedding together. And for those few weeks, I couldn't wipe the goofy smile off my face. I never thought the idea of being a bride would make me so giddy, but oh my did it ever! I had so much fun picking out a dress, reserving the venue, making the plans. And it did not take long for the wedding day to arrive!

We chose Barnacle Beach for our wedding. It was beautiful, and one of our favorite places to spend time together back when we were younger. Besides, you can't beat an outdoor venue!

Jazz had left much earlier that morning to make sure things were set up properly and get dressed and ready himself. I was left behind to get myself beautiful, and I was going to take a taxi to the wedding.

As I smoothed the last hair in place, and took a look at myself in the mirror, tears came to my eyes once more.

I was so proud to be the bride of Mr. Jazz Velvetcake. After this afternoon, I would have a husband!

I waited and waited for the taxi to arrive. FINALLY he showed up, but only a few minutes before the wedding was to start! Then on the way, he got a flat tire. On my wedding day!!! I couldn't believe it.

Meanwhile, Jazz was just a little panicky. All the guests had arrived, and they were seriously only waiting on me to get started. I think it was just a little more than Jazz worried about starting the wedding on time. Because when he called me, he sounded, well, scared!
"Where are you?"
"The taxi got a flat tire! He's almost done fixing it, we'll be there soon!"
"Oh. *whew* that's all. Ok. well, be safe, but hurry!"
Hm. I wonder if Jazz thought I got cold feet? Silly boy, no way!!

All of my siblings made it. Of course, Jazz's mom and sister were there, along with some co-workers and friends.

After finally arriving at the beach, I immediately sought out Jazz.
"See? I'm here, safe and sound. No worries!"
"Oh Juniper, you are stunning! You were so worth the wait."
"Hehe, silly. Let's get this thing started!"
"You took the words right out of my mouth!"

And with that, we gathered everyone around the wedding arch, and shared our vows with each other, and our guests.

My brother Curry, cried like a baby! Now that made me laugh. Even Jazz's mom held it together, but my brother was blubbering and snotting everywhere. Oh that boy!

Then came the cutting of the cake!

While everyone enjoyed cake and the buffet table we provided, Jazz and I made the rounds and tried to talk to as many people as we could.

It was so good to see my siblings again! I really missed them sometimes. They are all so grown up now, it's hard to believe! And they couldn't be happier for Jazz and I.
"You know, sis, I looked it up. You are one of the only Song women in the family to take your husband's name!"
"Really? Wow!"

"So how does it feel to be Mrs. Juniper Velvetcake?"
"Amazing, Basil! I'm so happy. I don't even have words for it..."
"Well, I'm happy for you sis! I wonder which one of us is next?!"

Of course, I had to show off my guitar just a little bit. Everyone had the best time dancing and singing, and partying away!

We arrived home just after sunset. Jazz's mom agreed to take care of all the after-wedding clean up so we could go home and enjoy our evening.

Which we had every intention of doing! First was a soak in the hot tub...

Then we got a little silly and had a pillow fight.

Then, I gave him a gift I bought for him, a bottle of wine from France!

Then after being romantic and watching the stars together, well, I'm guessing you can figure out the rest!

*buckey's notes*-  Ok, we can figure out what a 'normal' couple would do on their wedding night. But as for Juniper and Jazz, NOPE. Their wedding night was led by their wishes. Which was hot-tubbing, pillow-fighting, star watching, and chatting. That's it. LOL!
I couldn't believe after all this time, it was Jazz that finally wished to marry her! Which lead to her being the first Heir in this Wishacy to take her husband's name! Ha! I think it fits though, because she seems to be very close to Jazz's mom too, so now their family name will carry on, kind of cool! And she really was late to the wedding. I don't know what happened. I sent them off at the same time, but that weird "group" thingy took over, and made Juniper just stand outside the house waiting to leave. Weird! Anyways, thanks for reading!

Oh, and I just have to show you some funny pics from their wedding:
Jazz is SO EXCITED to get married! LOL

And apparently, he and his sister don't get along.

I don't know what she said, but he didn't like it!

What better way to entertain our guests, than a good ghost story, eh Jazz?
