Intro and Rules (OFFICIAL)

Well hello there… I’ve decided to try my hand at a legacy. I’ve played the traditional legacy with rules and points and what-not, and I’ve played un-official legacy type challenges and games too, but I’ve wanted to make my own challenge, and have had an idea or two rolling around in my noggin for my own type of legacy challenge.

My challenge is what I like to call an "All My Wishes" Legacy, but which was more simply nicknamed a "Wishacy". I have been experimenting with it, playing my own Wishacy with the Song family, and now that I'm almost halfway through it, and others who have joined me in playing it have played through it too, I'm proud to say I have a set of official rules below!

The idea is that the legacy is led by your founder, or heir/heiress, and that there is very little you can choose for your simmy in charge, you must do what their wishes/opportunities tell you to do.
The Official Rules:

  • You must of course, complete this challenge without changing active households. Any action that erases the wishes promised to your legacy family is a big no-no!
  • Your founder can be anyone as long as they are a young adult.   You may play on whichever life-span you like!
  • You can live in a pre-made house, or start on an empty lot, that is up to you. If you are playing a pre-made household that has a lot of money to start with, that’s ok too. It's fun to see the effects of playing rich/poor in this type of challenge anyways!
  • Having a family trait to pass on to future generations is optional, but I highly suggest making “family-oriented” the family trait for this challenge. Why? Because then you will have a better chance of your sim rolling wishes for children, and you have to have at least one child to carry on the challenge… I’ll explain more about that later.
  • As soon as you start game play, start locking in those wishes. Wishes are the foundation of this legacy challenge. You can only ‘help’ your simmies with fulfilling wishes. You can’t decide for them who they will marry, when they will have kids, even what kind of career they will have. They must roll a want/wish for that action before you may direct your sim to do so.
  • Must play with ‘High’ free-will setting.
  • You may only direct your sim to fill a need if that need has a negative moodlet relating to it. (hungry, smelly, stressed, has to pee, lonely, tired)
  • The only daily action you may direct them to do without needing a wish is going to work/school. While on the job, you may choose any 'tone' you like for them to work under while they are there. If you have Ambitions, while on the job, you may direct your sims to do whatever they need to to work for the day. But socially interacting with clients on the job can only be done if they wish for it.
  • You may only help your Sim skill in areas that they roll wishes to, or are directly related to their job/career. No other skilling is allowed.
  • You may not marry/move in/ any sim unless your sim wishes to do so.  If you want your sim to have other ‘romantic’ interactions with a sim, you must let them do it of their free will. The only exception being if they roll a wish to “massage sim x” then naturally you would have to make them ‘flirt’ ‘kiss’ etc to get them to the point where they are offered to massage sim x. That kind of direction is allowed.
  • You may not have any children, or adopt any children unless it’s a promised wish of your sim.  This game really is lead by your sim, and if they don’t wish for one, you can’t have one! Adoption is completely acceptable in this challenge, and an adopted child can be an heir/heiress. (See how the ‘family-oriented’ trait will come in handy here?) There is one rule that will help here if you are in danger of failing your Wishacy and need to have offspring. That would be the next rule:
  • Sometimes your sim may need a little help in bringing in the next generation. Thus, the 'try for baby' substitute rule was born. Basically, it works like this: You may substitute the 'try for baby' woohoo for regular 'woohoo' if your sim has already woo-hooed with that sim once before, and they've rolled another wish to woohoo with that sim. So, to use "Try for Baby" with a sim without a wish for it, your sim must have already had woohoo with that sim before, and roll a wish for 'woohoo' with that sim.

  • Traits: As far as traits go, you may choose traits for your sim, or if you really want to make it challenging, you can randomize them. This goes for the Heir/Heiress, their children, or anyone else in the active household. You may also use your Life Time Reward that allows you to change traits if you need to.
  •  Broken Objects- If something breaks in the house, you can not fix it unless your sim rolls a wish to, or autonomously starts repairing it. If they don't roll a wish to fix it, the only other option you have is to replace the object with a new one. This will cost more money, of course, but you can decide if it's worth it to have a working object or not.
  • BILLS/MAIL- Paying the bills and getting mail from the mailbox are FREE interactions that you can make your sims do at any time. This includes getting the mail, sending off gems, any type of interaction with the mailbox (but not cheats, of course)
  • Canceling wishes- you may only cancel a wish if you have already promised 4 wishes, and the wish that they roll is worth more lifetime happiness points than one of the 4 previously promised wishes.  EXCEPTION: You may cancel any wish promised that is impossible to fill. Say, to move in with someone they already live with, or to rub a sim’s belly that is no longer pregnant.
  • Opportunities- these are similar to wishes, but you will have a little more freedom in choosing to accept them. You may deny opportunities, but only 2 times in a row. After that you must accept the next one. So, say you get one opportunity, and you deny it. Then another one pops up and you don’t want that one either so you deny it. You MUST accept the next one that comes along. Accepted Opportunities can be treated like wishes. You may direct them to the necessary steps to complete the opportunity.
  • Being asked to move in can be considered an opportunity like any other opportunity, and is optional for you to accept or deny it. That is up to you. (GENERATIONS ONLY: The 'free vacation' opportunity that pops up to get the adults out of the house is also optional, you may choose to accept or not. If the heir/heiress goes on the vacation, control the other members of the house as you normally would, only fulfilling wishes, and taking care of needs as per the rules)
  • Lifetime Rewards- The lifetime points you collect are your reward for a great job at fulfilling your sim's wishes, therefore, you can spend them whenever you want, however you want. After all, you earned them fair and square! (I hope)
  • NO cheats. Especially money, motives, etc. That’s part of what makes this a “challenge”, duh…. If it’s a cheat that doesn’t affect game play and wouldn’t ruin the spirit of the challenge, then it’s ok.
  • You may choose an heir/heiress in any way you like. You may not let an heir/heiress take over until the current founder or generation's heir has fulfilled their Lifetime Wish. Once the LTW has been fulfilled, the previous heir or founder is no longer the focus, and the game play shifts to the new heir. You now work to fulfill the heir/heiress' wishes. If you want to wait until some of the children have aged to an older age before you pick your heir, that's fine, but you can't switch to a new heir BEFORE the current heir's Lifetime Wish is fulfilled.
  • Other members of the household (this includes previous heirs/founders who are no longer the current heir): The same ‘wishes’ rule applies to them, meaning you may not direct them to do something unless they wish for it. Their needs can only be tended to if they have a negative moodlet relating to it, and you must take care of it by clicking on the negative moodlet and letting them "choose" how to take care of that need. If they are not on the home lot, and clicking on the negative moodlet does nothing, you may direct them to go home and then click the negative moodlet there. If for some reason, clicking on the negative moodlet doesn't work for you, to take care of the needs of non-heir members of the household you must wait until the particular need is colored ORANGE.
    •   Opportunities are completely optional for the other members of the household, and you are not required to fulfill any of their wishes. You just may not direct them to do anything besides what their wishes dictate. If you choose to fulfill a wish of a member of the household other than your founder/heir, it shouldn't interfere with a wish for the founder/heir. The focus of the challenge is on them, and their wishes have priority over others in the household.
    • Baby/Toddler care: For little ones, obviously they can't fulfill their own needs. When the baby/toddler's need is giving them a negative moodlet you may direct an older sim to take care of their needs. The thing you can't direct a sim to do unless they have a wish for it is teaching toddler skills. Usually family oriented sims will do this autonomously as well, and of course that's allowed.
  •   For spares, you may move them out when they reach young adult if you would like to. This is the only thing you may decide for them without them rolling wishes. You can kick them out or move them into a house of your choice, but remember, no money cheats!
  • Anything that your simmies do autonomously doesn’t count against you, and doesn’t count as you directing them. If they choose it for themselves, they are allowed to keep doing it! The only way you may interfere with their free will is if you are directing them to do something that fulfills a wish or opportunity, or takes care of a need that is in the yellow/orange.
  •  House Decorating: I've decided that this is the one thing that I will leave off limits for the rules. You can change, decorate, spend as much money on your house as you want as the generations go by. I think it will be challenging enough as it is without including house upgrades, etc....which means that:
  •   You do not have to stick to one lot/house the entire challenge length. You may move to a different lot/house if you like.

  • Also, clothing and makeovers are free game, meaning you may change your sim's hair/wardrobe anytime you like without needing a wish for it. With some sims, they will wish for a makeover, which is great, but you don't have to wait for a wish to do so.
  • If you find yourself at any store which brings up a buy menu, (bookstore, consignment store) You may use that opportunity to buy anything that store has to offer. So, if your sim rolls a wish to buy an apple, when you go to the supermarket to buy one, you may also buy anything else the store offers, like a birthday cake, candles, rubber ducky, other foods, etc.
  • Collecting/Selling: I have thought long and hard about how bug/rock collecting and selling should be included in this challenge. The problem I have is that collecting is something that sims wish for, selling them in a particular way is something that they do not. So, for this particular challenge, You can't donate items to science unless the sims roll a wish to do it. So, it may very well be that in this particular challenge, donating may get left behind. Now, if you can figure out a way to do so and it's wish-fulfilling, by all means, go ahead! Another great option, if a sim wishes to buy something worth X amount of simoleons, take them to the consignment store, and try to sell your rocks there?! (if you need to free up space, you could always use the loophole of selling things through the back pack tab)
  • Collecting Money from Businesses owned: This is also sims do not usually/rarely wish for. In order to collect, you will need to come up with some creative wish-fulfilling to fix it. Example: if sim wishes to go shopping, you could take them to collect at the bookstore, if they wish to have a night on the town, if they wish to go outside, wishes of this nature. Or, if they wish to have X amount of simoleons in the family fund, collecting that money would be part of fulfilling that wish.
Other Notes:
  •   OPTIONAL RULE: You may direct 1, and only one non-wish related social interaction per conversation, per sim, per day. A conversation counts as uninterrupted back and forth interactions with one sim. If something happens and they stop talking to each other, either to go do something else (bathroom) or talk to someone else, that conversation is over.  If you want to direct your sim in a social interaction with that particular sim, you will have to wait until  the next day. (I would use this rule sparingly, only if you get stuck or really need the help to keep the challenge going.)
PETS RULES:
If you have this particular EP, here are a few rules to make playing with Pets in this challenge:

  • If you are just starting your Wishacy, you may add a pet to the household while you are in CAS creating your founder's household. If you are in the middle of your Wishacy, you may only add a pet if your founder/heir wishes for one. A great way to get your Sim to wish for a pet if they haven't yet, is to use your LTR points to change one of their traits to 'Animal Lover'.
  • You can treat your animals' wishes just as you would treat any other non-heir household member. Meaning that their wishes are optional to fulfill, but not required in any way.
  • You may take care of their needs the same non-heir way as well, (waiting for negative moodlet, or needs in orange).
  • If a pets' wish involves a sim to complete, you may optionally choose to fulfill that wish or not, using any household member you like (kind of how it works for caring for babies)
  • Due to the crazy havoc undisciplined pets seem to have on a household, the scold/praise interactions with your pet are FREE interactions.
  • You may drag and drop animals into cages as you see fit. I view cages as working like a back pack, where dragging and dropping is a sort-0f loophole.
REWARD!!! Been busting your butt fulfilling wishes for your simmy, and wanna little help? Well, this reward is for you!
    • Once you have reached 50,000 total reward points (found by hovering mouse over the treasure chest on the LTR menu) you are rewarded with 1FREE DAY with your heir/heiress/founder! Meaning, for 1-24hour period (sim hours, not real life hours), you are free to pursue whatever you want with your sim for the day! You may only use your free day one time, and only after you've acquired 50,000 overall points.
This wouldn't mean that you couldn't use your LTR points as you earn them, as the little treasure chest keeps track of your over all points in their lifespan. So, you could still use rewards, without it affecting reaching your 50,000 points. IF YOU ARE PLAYING ON LONG LIFE SPAN, YOU WILL NEED TO REACH 100,000 POINTS INSTEAD OF 50,000.
This is a one time offer! Use your day wisely!

GENERATIONS ONLY: If you have the Generations EP, You have to choose between the above Free Day OR these three Lifetime Rewards: Age Freeze Potion Reward, Forever Young Potion Reward, or Clone Voucher. You may only use ONE of these per generation. If you choose to use the Free Day, you may not purchase the above lifetime rewards.
  • CLONE VOUCHER: If you choose this reward, the child that you receive through the reward can be the heir, but their generation will be considered a "half" generation. Example: Sim x is the 3rd generation heir. You decide to get a clone for him. His clone can be the heir, only the clone's generation will be considered Generation 3.5. Then any child produced from the clone will be the 4th generation.
  • AGE FREEZE POTION: If you choose this, you may drink the potion any time, but you must use the birthday cake to age them up and resume normal aging when you've produced an heir for the next generation and they have completed their LTW.

Helpful Hints:
There are ways to be creative in wish-fulfilling that can mix things up a bit for you. For instance, say your sim rolls a wish to write a book. Instead of writing it at home, you can have them write the book at the library, because directing them to the library IS a way of fulfilling that wish. So, they may not have wished to go to the library, but because it indirectly fulfills a wish, sending them there to write the book is perfectly legit!

If you’d like to provide your sim with better choices for who to marry, you can always populate your town with sims that you’ve made. But do this without changing active households.

There are some traits that may make this challenge a little easier... especially when it comes to making friends and socializing! Some you might want to consider other than the Family Oriented trait are: Charismatic, Friendly, Flirty, Hopeless Romantic, or Party Animal. You may want to include one or more of these traits as well!

One more thing, if you choose to share your adventures in a blog/story telling place, mention at the beginning what settings you are playing with, life-span, starting money, etc... so everyone knows where you are at and how challenging the game will be for you!

This legacy lasts 7 generations. I don’t feel like points make this game any fun, so I’m not including any, but if you enjoy points, and want to make a point system for my challenge I say go for it!

Thanks for hanging out with me! I hope this will be fun!
There is now a thread on the Sims 3 site where you can share your experiences, pics, thoughts and questions about this challenge, find it here:  All My Wishes Legacy Thread

ANNOUNCEMENT: Due to the increase in Expansion Packs that have come out since I've last edited these rules, and the fact that I don't own all of them, so I can't play them through to make rules, any other questions about how to handle wishes/game play pertaining to any EP since Pets can be asked here below in the comments, on the Sims 3 Forum Wishacy Thread (linked in above paragraph) or you can find me on my new Twitter account: buckey_girl and ask your questions there. Sorry for the inconvenience!

  1. UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGH! Talk about CHALLENGING! The control freak in me is DYING! :(

Ah, just kidding. I really like the concept - it's a Control Freak's LIVING NIGHTMARE! Hands off and let free will or wishes take over! I don't think I could do most of this - I mean, I do fulfill Sims wishes all the time(after all wishes = happiness points = rewards!) but the legacy could come to a screeching halt if your Sim has no wish to be romantically active or marry or have a baby! Still, kudos to you for this interesting challenge! :)

    1. That's what's happening to me right now! But the thing is that you get a free day after 50.000 happiness, so either the sim wishes for babies and relationships or you can focus 100% on the other big wishes and then do whatever you want on your free day.

I've played my wishacy for 5 weeks and 3 days (sim-time) and nothing :P But he has 40.000 points so far so I've planned that on his free day, he's going to drink a lot of cofee and hit on many woman, so that he can move in and try to have a baby with several woman. Because I want more than one kid and I thought that could be fun! :P

  2. Hehe.. Thanks for commenting RaltsMaster! It is extremely challenging at times.
This challenge is a great 'control freak' detox, that's for sure. I have always been a micro-manager of my sims in the past myself. :)

  5. If I give my sim the surrounded by family lifetime wish, may I see fulfilling it as a wish or not?
(which means, may I direct them to try for a baby without rolling a separate wish for it?

    ReplyDelete
  6. Hello Dias454, thanks for checking out the challenge! No, you cannot direct them to take the steps necessary to fulfill the LTW unless they wish for it. Sometimes it takes some creativity to make that happen. I've found that with the Surrounded by Family LTW, if you use the "Try For Baby" loophole listed above in the rules, and at least get them started with one kid, they will start wishing for more. Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions!

  7. Oh god this sounds impossible! Im so used to controlling every single aspect of my sims lives...To rely on their wishes will be...scary.
Anyways, I was wondering, I just started playing and about five minutes in my hopless romantic, family orientated sim rolled a want to get married. Does that mean I can use er, whatever means neccesary to complete this? Or do I need to wait until he makes a move to wanting somebody?

    ReplyDelete
  8. Hello Eni! Glad you are givimg the wishacy a try! To answer your question, if a sim rolls a wish to get married, then yes you can get them married to whoever you want, however you want! That particular wish is pretty coveted amongst wishacy players, so good for you for getting it right away! Good luck with the Wishacy! I think you'l find it refreshing after a while!

Awesome legacy idea! I'll definately read. You can count on rec's from me! The storyboards need something fresh, after EmeraldRuby's little strop over The Clarke's...

  15. This does sound like great fun. Can't wait to try it. I have one question though about mods. Specifically Twallan's Woohooer, which makes woohoo and try for baby autonomous actions. Not allowed?

  16. As a control freak, I LOVE this challenge! I know that's weird but I find some of the legacies to not be very challenging, and because I am a control freak this type of challenge is very hard for me! I was thinking about the points thing and I really like doing points. I think a really easy points system would be lifetime happiness points= challenge points. The challenge essentially dictates that we get as many LTH points as possible, so why not track our skill in the challenge with them?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Hey Jessica, I'm glad you are loving it! ;) The LTR points would be a great way to keep track of points! It would be great fun to add up all of the heir/heiress' points at the end of the challenge and see how many you had overall! And which generation scored the most points. I like it! :)

  20. I am trying this out, and my sim rolled the want "Get Married." But there's no specific sim mentioned! How would I go about fulfilling this wish if I can't choose the spouse?

    ReplyDelete
  21. When they roll the wish to get married, you can marry them to whoever you want! Since they don't have a particular sim in mind, you can choose that for them, because marrying anyone will fulfill that wish. That is such a great wish to get when you're playing a Wishacy, congrats!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Damn, just typed something up and lost it... oh well.

I just popped in to say I stumbled upon your wishacy concept a while ago and It's really grown on me. I created my own a while ago called Splitting the Prism, although I haven't been as active about it as I'd like. Thank you for creating this "challenge". I've really enjoyed it. :D

  24. I've been writing a couple of legacies and reading a few one in particular Noir Nights. it is so good it put me off writing mine. However, this challenge may be just the thing to get me started again as I don't have to come up with great or exciting story lines I just have to report what has happened. I too am a control freak of my sims so it will be difficult for me to leave them alone. So I'm definately gonna give this a go.

  26. I am loving this challenge! It's actually my first try at a Legacy challenge, and it's a very fun and different way to play the game. One question: My first heir has grown up into a Young Adult, and I'd really like her to move into her own house. Do I have to wait for her to wish for it? Does this wish even exist? I miss having a single sim :[

    ReplyDelete
  27. Hi Miranda! I'm so glad you're loving the challenge! As for moving houses, no, you don't have to wait for a wish to move, as a matter of fact, it seems the best time to move them is when you are starting a new generation. I feel the same way, I get tired of having a houseful of sims after a while and want to make it simpler on myself. :) The moving wishes do exist, but I've only seen the "move into a penthouse" wish and when they go through a mid-life crisis with Generations, they wish to move.
Good luck with your Wishacy! I'm here if you need any help. :)

  29. I do really like this challenge, I don't really care for not being able to choose your mate, and wait till moodlets are negative before tending to them or our child so those I will do freely but other than that sounds good. Do you have a list of ways to make points? I do love earning challenge points.

  30. Gonna try this and try not to go insane while watching my sim.

  31. When are the rules for Pets coming? :)

    ReplyDelete
  32. Emma- Thanks for the reminder! I have a few rules for pets, and I will post them tonight. If I miss something in the rules that you think needs to be addressed, please let me know after I post them. Thanks again! :)

  33. Great! :)

I wanted to know when you can get a pet? Is it optional, does your sim have to wish for it, can you create animals with your founder and how many?

Can you breed your pets if you want to have kittens/puppies/foals?

    ReplyDelete
  34. *create animals when you create your founder

    ReplyDelete
  35. Oh, yeah, thanks for bringing that up! Let me see and I'll post a rule for that too. Thanks Emma! ;)

  36. Hi again :)

When you make your sim in CAF, is it one pet only or can you add as many as you want?

    ReplyDelete
  37. awesome challenge for a control freak like myself:P sounds fun!! Question though, regarding the "negative moodlet" stuff..can we use LTR's which will fix everything? like the new car or the moodlet manager? Also, what if i have a bunch of wishes popping up but can't do a current locked in wish b4 they disappear and i can "lock" them in? is that ok? thx!!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hi NurseCindy! Welcome to the fun! To answer your questions, yes you may use LTRs as you earn them, including ones that manage mood. The motive van would be the easiest, as the sim will automatically use that car when it's in their back pack. The mood let manager may be a little more difficult to use, because they don't really wish to use it or use it autonomously.
You may lock in all four wish spots as they come up, but once thy are locked in you can't cancel them, unless the wish that pops up is worth more LTR points than one of the promised wishes. It is mentioned in the rules up there somewhere on greater detail.
      Hope that helps! Have fun!

  39. I have a question. I'm not very good at sticking to rules but I'm mostly trying to follow these. My sim just wished to travel with another sim who is not in her active household, and as EA has not allowed for that and there's only one simple mod I dare to use, I wanted an official opinion on it. Would it classify as impossible or would it be an invitation to move them in together?

    ReplyDelete
  40. Hey! First off, I'm jealous, my Sims have yet to wish to travel 'with' someone!
But to get to the point, I would definitely consider it legit to let this be an excuse to move someone in! Go for it!

    ReplyDelete

    1. Yes, you do. But there are ways around that. If the kid wishes to be friends or best friends with their parents, "doing homework with.." that parent improves their relationship, so you can use that interaction to build their relationship and get homework done!

I had to ask because I hate reading and have not read comments (i don't know how i get through school, but eh) so let's say i plai in Starlight Shores, and my sim get the have a a show at a friends venue or host a friend's sim at venue x.I-I can't even try to fullyfill that wish,I just can't play online and as a matter of fact not many people still do that kind of thing. So can i delete those?
Second: If sim wants to see another sim's ghost and that sim is a YA what do i do?
Third -.-: If i have to accept all wishes,if a child/teen gets LTW where the wishes pop-up do i have to accept that?

  45. Hey Rexy! Sorry for the delay in response.

If you know it really is impossible to fulfill those wishes about doing a show at a friends' venue, yes, I would ignore them, don't even lock them in.

Second question: Well, if you have already locked it in, you'd just have to wait and see what happens, I suppose. If the sim dies and it's impossible to see that sim as a ghost, (you don't live in the same house with them) then I suppose you'd have to right click that one.

Third: When it comes to accepting LTWs, it is optional. If one pops up and you'd rather have the option to pick theirs when the time comes, just ignore the wish, and it will eventually go away. The way I approach it in my own game, is if they wish for it, and it's a wish I haven't completed in my Wishacy yet, I accept it, even if it's not my first choice. It's more along the lines of a true Wishacy if you do accept their own LTW. But, it also gets super boring to have all your Sims wish for the same LTW generation after generation, so that's why it's optional.

Hope this helps! Good luck! :)

  46. Well. I'm totally doing this. But I do have a couple questions, mostly about the romance aspect. If your Sim has a wish to just get married, not to any specific person, and you choose their spouse, are you allowed to do other 'romantic' actions until they can get married? And also, if they go on a date, are you allowed to choose where they go or do they just stand around and have a bad date? Finally, if you have two married Sims and one has a wish to regular 'WooHoo' and the other wants to have a child, can you use 'Try for Baby' to fulfill both of the Sims' wishes, or do you have to do them separately?

    1. Hi Lucy! If your sim wishes for marriage, then yes, you may do the romantic actions to get them married.
On a date, they usually wish to go somewhere. Just follow their wishes. I've never had mine wish for a date, and then not wish to go somewhere while on that date.
When you have your Sims woohoo, either regular woohoo or try for baby woohoo will fulfill the "woohoo" wish. So if one wishes for a child, if you use the try for baby interaction, it will end up fulfilling both Sims wishes.

Hope that helps! Good luck! :)

  47. I'm here again...As always with questions :P.So now that there's UL,my sim can go to uni?Or...I have too wait for the Complete a Degree which only shows to me when i have a sim at uni?...I've done your challenge once, now I'm doing it again.:D..If you read this thank you for not throwing a brick or something at me ;).

    1. Haha, no worries Rexy! Ask as many questions as you like. :) Yes, your Sim can go to Uni, but they have to have a wish for it. They do wish to go, I've noticed that the adults will wish for it as soon as the mascot drops off the bundle, or another way around that, if they haven't wished to Enroll in University is to wait until you earn a free day (50,000 points) and enroll them on that day.

I'm not sure about re-enrolling... I haven't noticed if Sims will wish to enroll again once they get home from their first term. I know mine have wished to earn a certain number of credits towards a degree, or to earn a degree... if they wish for those things you can enroll them as well. I am going to be adding a University Rules section to these official rules once I've played through enough to have a good amount of rules to add.

  50. I'm having alot of fun with this legacy but my sim has aged up to adult now with a midlife crisis! one romantic interest but i have to keep cancelling out wishes because its taking longer to fulfill the ones i do have promised and i always cancel out the one that has the least points of course. My sim wished to move out but she can't afford to so its very challenging without the money cheats but lots of fun :)

    ReplyDelete
  51. Just a question please - if my sim is having a midlife crisis and wished to change jobs which i did for her, would I be able to cancel out the previous wishes that were associated with her old job? is that ok? it says that midlife crisis wishes can't be cancelled so i had to fulfill them. thanks :)

    1. Hi! Sorry it's taken me so long to respond... summer is super busy for me. :)
Yes, I would say in that case it's probably ok to cancel the old job wishes, since they aren't really relevant to what your Sim wants anymore.

  52. What if a Sim calls any member of your household? Are you allowed to talk to them?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yes, anytime a screen pops up like that and gives you a choice, you as the Wishacy player get to choose whether to accept or deny whatever opportunity it is, whether it's a phone call, invite on a date, or whatever. :) Hope that helps!

  53. Oh, and are you allowed to cancel actions that Sims are doing out of free will and/or actions that you directed them to do? What if canceling the action will help fulfill a wish (for example, I had to cancel an action for my Sim to sleep so that she could finish her homework so she could stay on the Honor Roll)?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I believe the way it's worded in the rules, is that if they are doing an autonomous action, you can only cancel it to do something else if the 'something else' is fulfilling a wish. So you can cancel an autonomous action if you are canceling it to direct them to complete a wish.

  54. And no birthday cakes, I'm assuming (unless the Sim wants to have a great birthday party - - what if she just wants a regular birthday party?)

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yes, unfortunately no birthday cakes unless they wish for a party. :) Any wish for a birthday party you have to use the cake to make it an actual birthday party, so whether they wish for a birthday party, or great birthday party, you can use the cake for it.

  55. Sorry for all the questions, but what if a romantic interest calls a Sim over to their house and for some reason the Sim doesn't go unless you direct them (he's absent-minded). Is it ok to direct him? Of course, my Sim has a wish to kiss said interest, so I could probably use that as a loophole anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Hmmm... this is a tricky one, since he's absent minded and forgot on his own. I would say that if he doesn't end up going, you can't direct him to go, but like you said, if he has a wish to kiss that interest, you have to get them together anyways, so your loophole may work! ;)

  57. Thanks for the quick replies. If there is a star on the map (for example, a grill-a-thon), does that count as an opportunity even if it's public and not directed to the sim? Also, am I allowed to take my pregnant sim to the hospital for birth even if neither sim wishes for it? Are there any loopholes you can think of?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Ha ha! I didn't even take her to the hospital but I had made her read pregnancy books (using loopholes) and focused on her wishes for a while and she gave birth to a set of boy-girl twins! First pregnancy!!! Yay!!!!!

      Delete
    2. I also gave dad the fertility treatment... That might have helped.

      Delete
    3. Usually the mom will head to the hospital on her own, if left unattend. But if she doesn't, yes, it's fine to direct her to the hospital. I've always let my sims decide. If they head to the hospital, great, if not, they have a home-birth. :)

      Delete
    4. OH, and about the star on the map, those do not count as opportunities unless you get a pop-up that you can either accept or deny.

  58. If I have a radio and/or tv, can I turn it on whenever I want? What if a Sim turns it on? Can I change the station/channel? Also, this is the master of loopholes, but my sim currently wishes to have a baby. Apparently this can be done through both adoption and pregnancy. So I already tried for a baby, and the chimes confirm that my girl sim is pregnant. Since the wish won't be fulfilled until the baby/babies are actually born, can I adopt in the meantime?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. What if dad has a separate wish to have a baby boy (mom's still preggo)?

      Delete
    2. Yes, radio can be turned on /off by you. It's something you can do without disturbing the sim, so it's cool. Same with changing the channel.
About the baby/adoption loophole, I think that's too much of a stretch. If you know she got pregnant with "try for Baby" then she has a baby coming to fulfill the wish, adoption after that would need a separate wish.

If Dad has a wish for a baby, you can save that wish for after the other baby is born and use it, but ONLY if fulfilling that wish doesn't interfere with your heir's wishes. So, if they want a promotion from work, and being pregnant will keep them from working, that would be a no-go. Make sense?

  59. Just found your challenge, and it's prettyawesome (though you obviously know that). I was wondering what I should do if my sim wishes to become a vampire? Is it allowed?

    ReplyDelete
  60. and also, what abuout reading the newspaper? I like knowing what's happening in the neighbourhood, especially to the sims I created but my sims never wish for it :/

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hello!
Yes, if they wish to become a vampire, you can make them one!

As for reading the newspaper, I don't think it's possible, because I've never seen them wish for it... maybe if they wish to read?

      Delete
    2. I'm not sure about reading the newspaper, but when a sim wish to know about the weather, you can use the newspaper. And I think reading the newspaper also helps with their fun.

  61. What if the sim wants to autonomously do laundry but stops because there are close in the washer. Can we make them move the clothes to the dryer?
Also my sim has yet to wish to join a career, but wants to buy things she can't afford.

  62. This looks brilliant! I'm going to try it out.

  63. Hi, Am I`m allowed to just introduce her to strangers?

  64. What about into the future? Should I take them to the future only if they wish? Or should I just not take them to the future? Until I get your okay I'll just play without into the future.

  65. Hi, what if a burglar comes to my house or there is a fire, am I allowed to call the police or firefighters or not because that's not something the sim will wish for.

    ReplyDelete
  66. I tweak the rules somewhat to suit me, but this is still pretty much the only way I can play the Sims. This is actually a lot of fun!

    ReplyDelete
  67. I love, love, love that people still play this way. It makes me so happy. :)

    ReplyDelete
  68. Nice way to refresh experience with this game:)
I have a feeling that my next playthrough will be wishacy with some minor changes (excluding careers/ltw's that were mastered in previous playthroughs etc.)

I like to play with some sims downloaded from exchenge (a bunch of anime, videogames, Marvel/DC characters) and with Nrass story progression. Time to add some challenge to this fun generating mix^^.

  69. Lol this very laye, but what lifespan would you recommend playing on?
